For years, we have seen the rise of Apple in the smart phone arena, where they have dominated the competition. They might not have been the number one phone by market share but they were the number one by far when it came to innovation and technology. But now, in the past year, Apple has seen its share of competition in both of these titles from Google and its Android technology. Apple has hoped to counter that with the release of the iPhone 4. Debuting recently, the phone has many features that are sure to get people who loved the past iPhones excited while also bringing in new converts. In this article we will talk about the new iPhone, the new hardware that it is coming out with, and a lot of the software features that the phone will possess as well. We will split the article into two parts, the hardware and then the software.

The hardware of the new iPhone 4 is once again a beautiful thing to look at. Apple has always been a leader in the design department and once again they did not fail to impress the people. The phone comes in two colors, black or white, and has glass on both the front and the back for smoother handling. Also, the design of the phone is different from the past because the actual touch screen and the case are sealed together. There was a problem in the last couple of iterations of the phone that dust was able to get into the glass area. Now with the two sealed together this is no longer the case. And as usual, the touch interface of the phone is top notch as well. One of the biggest things that have separated the iPhone from other touch phones on the market is the fact that the response time of the iPhone was so good when it came to the sensors on the phone. This has only been improved when it comes to the iPhone 4.0
Retina Display in iPhone-4
The screen size of the phone is not as big as other phones on the market right now but it makes it easier to be able to fit the phone in your pocket. At 3.5 inches, the iPhone is just big enough to be able to comfortably watch video for long periods of time while being a good size for portability purposes. The iPhone also has a new technology called Retina Display that is supposed to be the next step in screen resolution for cameras in mobile phones. The Retina Display was mainly introduced for the improvements to the camera that comes with the iPhone. Instead of just having one back camera on the phone, the iPhone now comes with two cameras, one facing forward and the other facing backwards. This allows you to have video chat phone calls as well as being able to take normal pictures. There have been a lot of people waiting for this feature for a long time and it is finally here. The Megapixels in the camera are still 5MB which is not a lot in this day and age. Apple has decided to improve other facets of the camera technology with Retina Display rather than worry about more Megapixels.

Apple has improved the hardware underneath the surface as well. The processor that runs the phone is extra powerful. It is called the A4 chip and it was developed to run Apple’s mobile products. The promise of the new chip is that it will allow Apple mobile devices to have a longer life span than other phones on the market. It does this by allowing the battery to power the device longer and more efficient.
