Being an iPhone user myself it is easy to understand why people would want to upgrade. It seems that Steve Jobs is listening to the community when it comes to the new updates because some of the very things that people often complain about have been addressed. The new bells and whistles of the iPhone 4 really should make any 3G or 3GS iPhone owner want to upgrade to the new generation phone. With iPhone 4 outselling other phones by ridiculous margins, it is no wonder why Apple wants to continue to provide great support for this device. Below are just a few of the new features that have been released with the iPhone 4.

A Sleeker Design
I can tell a huge difference in the way my iPhone 4 feels in comparison to the iPhone 3G and 3GS. I would have originally thought that a very box-like appearance would be less enjoyable than a curved background. However, the slimmer feel to the iPhone is pleasing to the hand. As well, it feels lighter in weight than the older models. Carrying it around in your pocket does not weigh your pockets down as much as the older versions and it is certainly easier to pull out. The new design, although nothing revolutionary in appearance is an improvement.
Multitasking
There have been times where I have wanted to run multiple applications at once. Sometimes you need to have the browser up along with another app, but in the past this has not been possible. The only thing you could do is back out of the app, open up the browser, and then close the browser and get back into your app (which is sometimes not as easy as it sounds). Nowadays if I am surfing the web on the iPhone 4 and my wife wants me to check movie times I do not have to close the browser and open Flixster. This is a great feature that allows for easier and quicker maneuverability from app to app.

iBooks
Something that has been criticized of Apple was that they were initially not allowing the popular iBooks app that was released with the iPad onto the iPhone. Now though, they have released this very cool app alongside the new iPhone 4. Sometimes it is just easier to have your books directly in your phone for convenience. In the past there has been no great solution for reading books on your iPhone. Now though, with this app you can now download new books and it will also help organize them.
Folders
For the last several years I have owned my iPhone the regular routine was to download some new apps, but I would get rid of older ones that I did not use that often. It was primarily a factor of just having good organization. Since there was no folder capability older games that I rarely played had to be thrown out so that I did not have 8 pages worth of apps to scroll through to find the one I wanted. Again, Apple has found a great solution for being able to keep the apps you download and to minimize the need to scroll from page to page in search of an app.

They introduced folders with the release of the iPhone 4. Now, I can have one folder for all my games, one folder for all my music related apps, and one folder for all of my business related apps. They are literally all directly on my front page and easy to access quickly. Since I spent a lot of time in my organization and re-downloading older apps that I now wanted again this will save a lot of time.
