Which Android Based Phone Should I Pick, The HTC Evo 4G Or The HTC Incredible

by Admin on May 21, 2010

If you are able to remember the smart phone wars a couple of years ago, you might recall that the iPhone was able to make a big splash in a short amount of time. Seeing this momentum, Google tried to put their foot into the marketplace with the G1. It did not make the splash that they wanted it to. Ever since then, the Android operating system has been picking up steam and many companies are now adopting it as their mobile phone OS of choice. In the last couple of quarters, Android based smart phones have been the highest growing phones in the sector. Now there are two more phones being released that seem like they want to be at the top of the class. The phones are the HTC Incredible and the HTC Evo 4G. These phones have the mobile world abuzz in how good they are supposed to be. The reviews are coming in and so far they have been highly positive. But if you are a person that is looking into purchasing one of these two phones, you may have a hard decision to make. Which one of the phones should you get? In this article, we will go over the plus and the minus sides of the phones, so you can decide what the next phone in your collection will be.

Up to a month ago, people were saying that HTC Incredible was the phone to beat. So far the phone has received rave reviews and even the announcement of the IPhone 4.0 has not derailed the hype. The only thing that has dampened the hype so far has been the upcoming release of the Evo 4G. The Incredible has one of the best touch screen interfaces that is available for any Android based phone. This has been the one major complaint about Android phones. The touch interfaces released so far are not as good as the iPhone. The Incredible made sure that they removed that as a factor and the touch screen interface runs very smoothly. Also the hardware stats of the phone are one of the most powerful of any smart phone that has been released. This is sure to go over well with power users.

The Evo 4G is a lot like the Incredible. They hold many of the same features and the hardware is pretty similar. And of course, them both being Android based phones means that they can do a lot of the same things. But the big difference between this phone and the Incredible is that it will be the first 4G network phone released in America. Other countries have been able to experience the wonders of 4G technology for awhile now and we are now finally going to get it as well. The IPhone 4G will also have this capability but the Evo 4G is being released first. The 4G alone make this a phone that is worth having.

Since both of the phones are pretty similar I think if you care about the internet and the broadening of the bandwidth that you will have access to, the Evo 4G might be the choice that you want to make.

“The IPhone 4G will also have this capability”

I don’t know where you get your information from but that statement is entirely false. The “4G” in the iPhone’s name does not mean it will run on a 4G network, it means it is the 4th generation iPhone.

iPhone 4G = 4th Generation, not 4G Network… lol.

Also, it’s been known that HTC Incredible has Screen issues, so no idea how you can come off saying that:

“The Incredible has one of the best touch screen interfaces that is available for any Android based phone. ”

lol.

I own an HTC Incredible and there are no issues with the touchscreen. I’ve had it since it first came out and it has been nothing but stellar.

“Also, it’s been known that HTC Incredible has Screen issues” What issues are you referring to? I’m on board with James no probs whatsoever. The direct sunlight issue is native to oled in general and other issues were either isolated incidents or corrected before release. BTW the screen is so bright even in direct sunlight the shadow cast by my head usually allows the screen to shine on through. Overall a great device getting much love from my many iPhone friends and way better than any WinMo phone I’ve owned in the past.
