This week during the consumer electronics show, electronic giant Toshiba has announced the release of a 10.1-inch Android operating system based Tablet. The name of the tablet is not released yet.
The device runs on the latest version of the Android operating system for mobile devices which is Android 3.0 Honeycomb. This version of Android is not released publicly yet, so the tablet cannot be launched commercially. It is however being said that Android 3.0 Honeycomb is the best operating system for tablets. It has quite advanced features which include dual-core a Tegra 2 chip, two video cameras, a capacitive touchpad and a display of 1280×800 resolution. One of the video camera is a 5 MP back camera and the other a 2 MP front camera for making video calls.
The tablet also has a mini USB and a normal USB jack, HDMI, a replaceable back cover which is resistant to spill and is also rubberized. It also has a slot for an SD card. All the specification of this tablet is quite good and on par with other world class tablets. The only point in the specification that is not in favour of the Tablet is its weight. The weight of this Tablet is around 1.7 pounds which is a little bulky when compared to iPad. iPad’s 3G and Wi-Fi supported model weigh only 1.6 pounds. But We don’t think that a difference of just a 0.1 pound would make any difference to the sale of this new tablet Computer from Toshiba.
