On 09.06.2010 I again paid the required amount. Then after that,I repeatedly contacted customer care at 1800-200-9001 and as usual they refused to take the complaint as this CC No. handles only SD STB and asked me call 1800-200-9003 which is a totally recorded voice driver service which prompts you to type Smart Card No and then says “Sorry this account is already active. Please call 1800-200-9001 to speak to our executive” and hangs up. Many calls to installation team did not help in way. Writing to their customer care email ID results in auto reply asking for 24 hours to respond and of course, not a single reply till date. Can it get any worse ???

thanks a.mohapatra and admin for solving my problem of getting zoomed image in hdmi cable output. after software upgrade it is now solved. but sadly Reliance refused to give me ,an existing customer, who upgraded to hddvr 1 month free national geographic hd channel.after a frustrating one month of repeated calls to customer care and local office they kept sending me sms saying this is your service req number then suddenly they send sms saying your service request is closed etc etc all staff at call centre are bafoons who dont understand my simple request to activate nat geo hd channel.finally they tell me to pay for the hd channel if i want it.so i have no option but to pay.then they activated it within 2 days.WHY DO THEY SAY IT IS FREE FOR ONE MONTH TO EXISTING CUSTOMERS WHO UPGRADE?

Last day when i was trying to switch my hd dvr. it was only showing first installation.after repeated process,in the end it shows channels refreshing list,there after called cc, they told we have a software upgrade and told me to do few steps with hd dvr set top box.it shows software upgradation and after completion nothing happens, as nothing is coming ,its just blank. they promised to send technician, but is there any way through which it can be rectified so that i can’t miss today cricket.

Do try to reset your STB and update your STB manually! It will solve your problems! It could be good for you to go to shop where you purchased and ask them to do it so your problem solve in few minutes.

Right not it’s not possible in both SD DTH boxes and HD DTH STB but soon we would see these things thanks to TRAI’ recent notification which will allow user to change DTH operator without changing STB!

Just got BigTV HD DVR installed. Smooth Experience ( me Lucky One) They Installed it witin 1 day after I recharged my Acc & informing them. I Hav used HDMI port ( worked after software update) & connected it to my 24 inch full HD benq Monitor. Nat Geo is grt. Other channel are visually much better than the Normal STB.
I now Hope Big TV will give its customers a good nos of HD Channels. I am ready to pay little more for these. Also big tv must launch better packages which must exclude ( yes Exclude) all Saas Bahu Channel

All these HD service providers i.e. Reliance, DishTV,TATASKY, Airtel, Sun etc. – which one you have found best just in terms of best picture quality and audio quality in all the channels (not only their PET channels). Plz leave aside any other feature into account while analyzing this.
I am considering the possibility of getting a NTSC 1080i HDTV to India. I noted that the set-top box for the HD-DVR has a HDMI output.
Any idea if the HDMI output would work with a NTSC HDTV.I know friends who moved to brazil (which also uses PAL) and where set-top boxes with HDMI output worked well with a NTSC HDTV.
Also curious, how many channels on BIG HD are full HD (1080i). Is only NG in full HD ?

I have gone for BIGTV HGDVR certainly an improvement.While component output is ok HDMI output sucks on audio though not always.Video quality with H DMI even on standard channels are really good.Any clues for audio problem?transmission or set top box or any other technical issues like dolby etc.Erratic behaviour is random occurence

Right now it’s too early to make comments since all HD DTH have very few channels and based on their SD quality, it’s known fact that Reliance BIG TV have best picture Quality while Airtel Digital TV have best sound Quality! So I would advice you to wait for few months to check these points.

As from picture quality, Channels availability and packages, I would advice you to go with Reliance BIG TV HD which have best picture quality in India and no one compare with Reliance BIG TV. Also you would have better packages to choose and have many Telugu channels too!
On Customer Care, I would say both are same useless but if you normal user then you might never need help of Customer care.

I ve HD DVR and i am facing problems with HD. Whenever i use it with HDMI cable the picture blinks within 15mins always. Sometimes this happens very frequently. The cable has no problem as i use the same in my xbox. When i use it with RF cable, it works fine.Please tel me what is the actual problem. I called the customer care also. They told that i use 1.3 v of HDMI cable thats why this is happening and they are upgrading there system for 1.3 v

Yes LNB will be same depend on supplier! You can now have Reliance Digital TV HD connection too which is different then normal Reliance Digital TV and Reliance Digital TV HD DVR connection.

What is the reason for having 2 LNB inputs. The reason I am asking is that my house is prewired to have one RG6 cable from the roof top to my TV room. Does the BigTV HD DVR need two RG6 cables for it to work or is one sufficient. thanks guys.

I purchased two connections of Relience Big TV in my home, one is with recorder and the other is without recorder. May I expect the answers to my following questions please!
1. How do set reminder to a particular programme? I do not want to record it but want the program to tune into a particular channel at a particular time.
2. What is HDMI cable? What is it’s use? How do I know if it has come bundled with my HD DVR STB or not?
3. At present, I have two old traditional TVs (ONIDA and a Crown) but what type of TV goes best in hand with Reliance Big TV HD DVR and HD Simple Set Top Box?
4. What is the use of colored buttons on Remote? I see only the use of blue button when some message nags me on screen repeatedly.

1. Well you can have option to Set As A Reminder for that which can use to tune into particular channel at particular time.
2. HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a compact audio/video interface for transmitting uncompressed digital data. It is not available with Reliance HD DVR STB.
3. I would advice you to purchase Sony Bravia TVs which are best with Reliance HD Boxes.
4. Those button uses mostly in Page navigation in menu or in Games.
5. Well we Gujarati have same offers on non South Indian offers.
6. You can either collect it from internet or Reliance Stores! Although most of things you may already know!

I have a problem with The HD DVR (Reliance-Hyundai). Purchased in 2nd FEB 2011
My Tv is Samsung full HD series 5 lcd model LA37C550
Problem picture and sound goes off for a moment when used in full HD mode with HDMI cable. This happens at any time. Using with RCA cables no problem.
I also have Reliance -Hyundai HD STB but no problem with that unit it works fine using same cable.
Complain made to Reliance they changed HD DVR twice, but same result.
Samsung say their TV is ok. They also informed that a similar problem was faced at Thane customer, it was Samsung LED Tv
What is problem?
Reliance took all details of the TV as well as software in HD DVR and said will get back
Till today I am waiting for their response.
Please help if you have any souluion.
