This is one of the smaller, as in thinner, Nokia feature phones to be offered. It is just .37 of an inch ( 9.6 millimeters ) thick. It comes in a great selection of colors, five total, including a cranberry model. It was well thought out and was given a special music button prominently displayed under the touch screen. The Nokia X3 is designed to allow you to use whichever mode of input you like best, touch screen or keypad. Nokia gave the back of the phone a brushed aluminum finish for a touch of class. Overall it is very well made. Now for some details.

The connectivitiy on this small Nokia X3 feature phone is impressive. It has quad band GSM for voice networks. For data, the X3 has 3G, bluetooth, HSPA, and Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi is able to connect to the fastest mode, the “N” mode, which is five times faster than the last “G” mode. There is no WiMaX or LTE. The other two connections are the FM radio and the web browser.

The screen is 2.4 inches in size. This is not a capacitive touch screen, but the design seems to preclude the use of a stylus. The resolution of the Nokia X3 display is average. It has 240 by 320 pixels of clarity. There is no multi touch or accelerometer. This is not a smartphone, but a feature phone, that puts the two features of a keypad and a touch screen on one device.
The camera on the Nokia X3 is rather powerful at five megapixels. It supports video recording at 18 frames per second, which is just a bit above average. The X3 camera has a 4X digital zoom to make photos more detailed.

The system that controls navigation on the Nokia X3 is the venerable S40 system. This also includes a social app for Twitter and Facebook. Nokia calls the app a “Communities” app, so if you see that, it is the same idea. The Ovi Music store will be free for some who buy the X3. It will depend on where the feature phone is sold as to if the Ovi Music Store is free or not. The X3 comes with a MicroSD card, so downloading songs by the truckloads is possible with this service. The MicroSD slot can accept a card of up to 16 gigabytes. There is no word on Ovi Map for the X3, but many of their newest devices offer this turn-by-turn service for free now.
The Nokia X3 is roll out this month. It will initially be offered in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. It will also be offered in Mexico and perhaps to the United States. The price will be €125, excluding taxes and subsidies. This is a well made phone and what seems to be another legacy device for Nokia.
