The Symbian powered Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition is the second-generation phone of the 5800 version that was launched earlier this year.

The phone also has pre-loaded Ovi Maps, which is seen as a competitor of Google Maps. The OVI is a high definition map that offers three-dimensional view, all information about the weather, point of interests in different locations and the ability to synchronise wirelessly.

Nokia’s 5800 Navigation Edition also has a 3.2-inch (360×640 megapixels) LCD screen and is also loaded with wi-fi, Bluteooth, 3G, GPS, 8 GB of memory space and 3.2 megapixel camera. The 8GB memory can also be expanded with the help of the microSD slot.

The handset has hit the market in the third quarter of this fiscal year and has been priced at $400 excluding of carrier subsidies.

The 5800 has created a stir among other phone makers Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition as well. Some of the carriers have released applications that would enable the iPhone to navigate and the Garmin, GPS maker, has also teamed up with Asus to launch a rival of the 5800.
