If you remember the original iPad, it was being pre-ordered in February of this year. It is almost time for the next iPad, the “iPad 2″. This time it is going to be ready to hit the market in February, just a few months away. Get a closer look at the iPad 2 here in this snappy article.
There is no doubt the first iPad was a record breaking piece of work. People are still trying to copy the Apple tablet PC. It is currently holding off all newcomers in the heated battle for first place in the tablet market. An impressive 95 percent of this market goes to just the iPad alone. Now that the newer model is just a few months away, the lead is likely to stay the same and maybe increase. There are just five more percentage points to go until Apple “has it all”.
The iPad 2 is going to have better and more robust hardware. It is still going to be manufactured by Foxconn Electronics factories in China. This time it will have two cameras. This is, of course, is the same arrangement as the iPhone 4. Some are saying that the iPad will, in the long run, end up being just a bigger iPhone. So much the better, since both tablets and smartphones are both small computer devices. One can go in the pocket and the other can not. It is not a stretch of the imagination to believe that the iPad 2 will have a version of “Face Time”. It is assumed that the iPad 2 will be able to record high definition video from the rear facing camera.
New hardware featured for the iPad 2 will be new connectors. A USB is more than likely going to be included to be able to hook up the tablet to other digital devices. This would allow wired or wireless keyboards to be connected. Most people still type faster with a manual keyboard than with a virtual one. Many people say the USB connector is an obvious upgrade, so assuming you will see it on the new iPad is normal.
Many do not realize that the original iPad screen is bigger than most of today’s tablet PCs. It is 9.7 inches, while most of the Apple competition creates tablets with seven inch screens. Take the Blackberry Playbook, which is faster than the current iPad. It has a seven inch screen. The same is true for the Samsung Galaxy Tab, which is selling by the millions. The rumors abound, but it is logical that “mobility” is the name of the game in the “mobile world”. People like the current size of the iPad screen, but do not want to feel like they need to use a backpack to take it with them. Some negative output from Apple may squash the idea of a smaller screen for the iPad 2.
The screen resolution will eventually be increased. The idea of a “retina display” is no doubt on the minds of Apple developers for their future iPads. It will be surprising if the iPad 2 has one. A gyroscope will most likely be included for this new tablet. Most users of the iPad are using it for games. A gyroscope will bring them some better play action. It will also keep them occupied longer.
The processor for the iPad 2 may stay the same, since there is no word on an upgrade. If the battery gets improved, it will mean a dominant performance for a tablet PC. The current iPad already gets ten hours of use to every charge. Look for this tablet to be sold on time without shipment problems. Apple would be shipping iPad 2 units out to warehouses in February 2011. If that date is correct, it suggests an iPad 2 release date of some time around April.
