I think MTNL and BSNL should change the name 3G to 3GG, 3G means Third Generation Mobile Service but 3G is not full for MTNL and BSNL it should be Third Generation, Third Grade Services.
They have launched the services after the delay of nearly one year, I was very excited to use my 3G mobile, and I purchased a MTNL sim card, after paying and completing all the formalities they started my services after 45 days, shocked??? Try it yourself, and after that the speed of the net was very very poor, even after complaining to the call center 100 of times they just said wait for some time as the services is new it will take some time, I don’t know why they have started the services if they are not having proper infrastructure, some time the customer care told me that the problem is with my hand set some time they told that the problem is in SIM and some time they told that the construction of tower is not completed yet blaa blaa blaa…. Then I visited to my nearest MTNL sanchar haat, register a complaint with area manager, but nothing happened, then I submit my complaint to the Consumer Court http://www.consumercourt.in , they told me to send a complaint to the Nodal officer, I did same and received a reply from the Nodal officer that they will refund 100/- in the next billing cycle.
What is the use of 3G service, if you are not able to satisfy your customers, I think 4G is already launched in some countries, and we are using 3GG.

Anil November 27, 2010 at 1:14 am

Hey I want tobuy Olive tablet, as I liked its features very much

But I have a doubt that whether it is a chinese company, as I always use brands like nokia, sony, motorola etc.

At croma in Belapur, I got a price of Ra. 24500 with Bill & Manufacturer warranty, but at the office of BlackApplemobiles.com,I am receiving it at Rs.22500 with Bill & Manufacturer warranty.

Please advise me whether any other seller is offering at lower prices & do first let me know that whether anyone has used it or not.

I dont want to waste my money after purchasing it, or else I will opt for Apple Tablet which is slight higher.

Hi, I purchased Olivepad online one month back and I am more or less happy with the product but there are a couple of issues which can be annoying.
1. Even if you Enable data through SIM, the data connectivity doesn’t get enabled at all (most of the times) but if you restart Olivepad, and it gets connected.
2. The Vibrator inbuilt in the Olivepad keeps vibrating for apparently no reason, when Olivepad is on the move in my hands or if I am holding it in my car. That is annyoing.
3. Now a days most of the time the Keyboard pops up on the desktop for some reason

Guna Sekhar December 30, 2010 at 5:28 pm

Hi

I am from Bangalore, I bought OlivePad VT100 last week, though the touch and feel is average, the pad supports only Android 2.2, when I called the customer care, a very rude female executive told me, I cannot upgrade my OlivePad from 2.2 to 2.3, I told her Thank You and kept the phone, and I mailed on their site stating this query, I received a call from another executive, he told me that the hardware does not allow for any upgrade, So please do not buy this and their customer support is pathetic, they are buying these from a Chinese vendor and selling by pasting their OlivePad name on it.

My suggestion is for you to go for a good brand, my spirit of going for Indian brand was crashed by this OlivePad(Olive Telecom)… Please resist from this brand.

Regards
Guna

Hello Guna,

Well it’s known fact that Customer support in India is worst one!

I would like to inform you that Android 2.3 GingerBread is just released and yet not updated on most Android Tablets as well phones! Even major players also delay GingerBread updates! I also agree with OlivePad that they can’t able to update it to Android 2.3, you have to look something else.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

Hi,

I bought OlivePad 2 months before and surprisingly it is very stable till date. A nice 3+ hours battery backup [It should have been more though].
I found it very useful as
1. This works as a second [fixed] Phone in my CAR.
2. This works as a Navigator System in CAR [Maps My India].
3. This works as a LCD screen in CAR [Watching Movies].
4. Nice Gaming Console.
5. Watching Photoes and Video, listening MP3 from My Desktop/Laptop over Wifi using UPnP client.
6. RDP/VNC touch console for my Laptops [Windows Xp & Win 7], Desktop [Fedora 14/SOlaris 10].

And Lots of more …
