How to fix three common problems that you might see with your Android based phone?

by Admin on September 12, 2010

The Android operating system has been on the market for a couple of years now and it seems like the operating system and the phones that run on it are getting better and better. There was a time when the Android was considered not even close to being a threat to the iPhone but now that is no longer the case. The improvements to the operating system have been fast and heavy and there is no reason to think that they are going to stop now. But even though the technology is excellent, there are some problems with it that need to be addressed as well. No matter how good the product is there is always going to be some problems that have to be taken a look at. In this article we will take a look at three common problems with Android based phones and how they can be fixed.

Your phone is not able to run some of the programs in the app store

As we all know, the app store has been growing so it is quickly rising to be able to take on the other big app store out there, the one from Apple. But some people have a problem with the app store because there are plenty of applications that are not able to run on all of the Android phones out there. People expect there to be no problem when they have an Android device to be able to run a program that they like on an Android phone. The problem with the Android operating system is that there are a lot of manufacturers who make the phone and they all have their own operating system update cycle. So while Google may update the operating system the manufacturers might not release the update for their phone until a lot later. So to avoid that problem from happening to you, check the phone before you purchase it and see how long it takes for the manufacturers to update the other phones that they sell. Some of the manufacturers have a good record when it comes to this.

The battery life is horrible on the phone

One of the biggest complaints about the Android operating system that you might have heard is that the battery life is low on the phones. Most of the phones are fine but with some of their more powerful phones the battery life is very short. This is because you are able to run a multitude of applications at the same time on the phone. This is called multitasking. If you want the dripping of battery life to stop, make sure that you check how many applications that you are running at one time. If you cut these down then your battery life will be extended by a great deal.

The UI is not as smooth as the iPhone

Some people who switched over from the iPhone to an Android phone have commented that the user interface of the phone is not as smooth as the iPhone. While this may be the case there are things that you can do to make the interface smoother. This again, a lot of the times, has to do with the power of the CPU being used on other applications on the phone. If you cut some of those applications off, you will see an upswing in the way that the phone works.

The Android is a great operating system. Follow some of these tips to make it even better.
