YourDraft is a Web application that lets you create draft documents online. After creating your desired document, you can share it with other people or simply keep it to yourself.
The Web site does not require registration, that is, you can use it whenever you want, for there is no need to create an account. Moreover, when you share your content with third parties, you will not need to have a password either.
In order to start a new document, you must fill the required fields on the small box located at the screen’s right. Give your draft a title, inform your email address so you can receive a link to your document in your mailbox and type the automatically generated code provided. This is all, as far as initial steps go.
After clicking on the “start drafting” link, you will get access to a new Web page. On said page you will find a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) text editor. This is the online tool you are going to use to create your draft. Right above the editor you will see a line informing when the document was edited for the last time. You will notice that the project’s title can be modified, so in case you chose a bad one when you filled the form at YourDraft’s homepage, you can rest assured that you will be able to fix your mistake.
The page displaying the Web app’s WYSIWYG editor will also provide you with several useful URLs. Some of them are meant for your own use; others are meant to be shared with other people if so you wish. As you will see, you will be given the option to either let other people view and edit your document or just view it without modifying anything.
The main downside to this Web application is the absence of an actual help section. If you click on the “Help” link, you will be taken to a page containing just an email address. A FAQ section would be much more helpful to users, who may not have the time or the patience to wait for an answer from the company’s help desk.
Nonetheless, YourDraft may be a quite useful tool for those who need to create, store and/or share written documents. It can even be used as an alternative CMS (Content Management System) if you follow the instructions provided on the Web site.
