The ASUS G73SW-A1 is one more laptop exclusively designed for the hard core use of gamers who wish to have a lot of features and effects to be visualized in their game. This ASUS G73SW-A1 is patterned after the F-117 stealth fighter plane and one can see this theme repeated in all its features. It comes with the logo of the Republic of Gamers and proclaims itself as the gamer’s friend.
Asus G73SW-A1 Spec:
The Asus G73SW-A1 is an elegant, fast moving laptop powered by Intel Quad Core i7-2630QM with a clock speed of 2.0GHz. The processor is supported by an 8GB DDR3 SDRAM, 1TB (500GB 7200RPM w/ Hybrid SSD x 2) Hard Disk Drive with Blu-Ray DVD Combo Optical Drive. This is a lot of material to use and hence it is mostly useful for heavy gaming. There is a 2.0 Megapixel Video Camera with integrated microphone in the system. It also has an 802.11b/g/n WLAN with 10/100/1000 Base T Ethernet support, an 8-in-1 Card Reader (MMC/ SD/ Mini-SD/ XD/ Memory Stick/ MS Pro/ MS Duo/ MS Pro Duo) which is useful for all productivity applications.
Asus G73SW-A1 Screen:
It has a 17.3″ inch Full High-Definition screen display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. This is supported by an ASUS Splendid Video Intelligent Technology propped up with NVIDIA GTX 460M, 1.5GB GDDR5 Graphics Card. The whole process is carried out with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium of 64-Bit Operating System which is able to handle all such processes like a breeze.
It has a huge memory and hence deleting games will be obsolete – a thing of the past thanks to the 1,000GB hard drive, and even though it is excellent for gaming, the 17.3” display with 1920×1080 resolution also works grand with the Blu-ray player. It permits all Blu-ray movies to be watched in their original resolution.
Asus G73SW-A1 Physical Appeal:
It has a gun metal grey colouring throughout its body and does not have any flashy red or blue blinking lights anywhere on its surface. It has a rubberized covering, which make it very grip friendly and does not allow fingerprints to be visible on it. The same gun-metal gray theme continues on the inside as well and the keyboard is present along with the number pad which allows number crunching. The disadvantage of this model is that the key board is quite smaller than other laptops in the same genre. There is extra space around the keyboard which could have been put to good use. The keys are small and the space between the rows of keys are very less there by it performed quite badly in the quite badly in the typing speed – error tests.
Asus G73SW-A1 Price:
The entire set up of works on the ASUS G73SW-A1 costs almost $2000 and hence the high end features are more than welcome. The large screen and advanced internal configurations make the G73SW weigh a robust 8.8 lbs and measure 56.8mm thick, 310mm deep and 420mm wide. However this does not hinder its portability aspects.

I’m very happy with this machine. No BSODs or system errors of any kind so far. The NVIDIA video card seems to be doing a very good job. All of the drivers on the machine and on the DVD are current, so I only had to update Windows 7. The keyboard will take some getting used to, that’s all.
