According to a report, Apple iPad 2 and Apple iPhone 5 are fully capable of making mobile payments for purchases.  The director of Envisioneering Group, Mr Richard Doherty told Bloomberg on Jan. 25 that Apple iPad 2 and Apple iPhone 5 will be capable of Mobile payment technology and near field communication (NFC). NFC allows devices to communicate wirelessly at close-range. Google, One of the Apple’s rival had already incorporated NFC features in its Android 2.3 based Smartphone like Google Nexus S.

Doherty also said that APPLE has many engineers working on the hardware for this project. Also in the report by Bloomberg it is stated that this payment service will be operational as soon as middle of 2011. The concept behind these services is that iPad 2 and iPhone 5 could connect to user’s bank and credit card account directly and make the purchase with a single swipe.

Apple has not yet disclosed any details about its future products. If we go analysis the last year’s release, we would find that launch of all its product like iPhone and iPad were doe in between April to July. It is also heard that Apple’s CEO Steve Job is currently on leave for health reasons. It means that the launch of new products would be done by other top executive like COO Tim Cook who currently runs the company in the absence of Steve.

The new hardware updates along with NFC capabilities in the upcoming products from apple is going to help Apple to make a mark in the commercial markets.
