Earlier when Apple announced the release of iOS 4 at the Worldwide Wide Developers Conference, we only knew that multitasking would be included, but today, when Apple finally released its new operating system (OS) for iPod and iPhone, (and soon to be released on the iPad) we can find that it contains more than 100 new features.
So here is a quick guide to some of the new features and updates that you need to know:-
iBooks
iBooks is one of the most amazing ways to download and read books. It is more than an eBook reader. There are lots of books available and some of them being completely free. Once downloaded, books will appear on your bookshelf in the iBooks application.
Multitasking
It allows you to run 3rd party apps and switch over them instantly without trifling speed of the inbuilt app. when you launch an app that supports multitasking and switch to a second app, the first one will stay running in the background and to switch between the applications, press the home button twice. To switch to an entirely new application, click on its icon and it will take you right back to the place you were before you left it.
Change your home screen wallpaper
Change the background wallpaper of your Home screen by clicking, Settings -> Wallpaper, pick an image you want to use, and from there choose the “Set Home Screen” button.
Create Folders
Quick access to your favorite application and you can also manage up to 2160 applications. The new iOS 4 features organized shortcuts of application into folder with drag and drop functionality. To create a folder hold down an application until they all joggle and then drag it on top of another application. To add additional apps to the file, just drag and drop them into the folder.
