Apart from the recording function, it has timeshifting feature that enables it to pause and rewind live TV anytime in any show. The extra function added in Airtel Digital TV Recorder s that users can program the recording of any TV show from their mobile phone anywhere from the world, allowing the possibility not to miss any TV show ever, even if the user is not at home.

Airtel Digital TV Recorder is basically a Set Top Box (STB) with a 160 GB Hard Disk that has data protection feature, the recorder records via program and user account instructions and store it to the Hard Disk till deletion. It has HDMI-Out port for using in LCD, LED & Plasma TVs to give highest picture clarity possible. The videos are stored as MPEG 4 by DVBS 2 technology with a search index that has details of the recorded video and used to fetch recorded program. The program allows interacting with the index via user account by mobile or remote.
