by Admin on June 4, 2010

Acer is not planning on being left behind in the mobile arena. They are actively creating new products for those who enjoy high technology. They have created a new player in the form of the “Acer Stream”, a high performance smartphone. Take a look at it here.

This is a smart, attractive looking smartphone. You may see it online with its alias name, the “Acer Liquid A1″. This phone is a direct competitor to the HTC Evo 4G and the Droid Incredible. It can output video to a monitor or television. It is a well-rounded entertainment device that also can make telephone calls. The size is 4.7 inches tall by 2.4 inches wide by .44 inch thick. That is less than half an inch thick. If you need the millimeters, it is 119.5 x 63 x 11.2. It is 4.9 ounces or 140 grams in weight. It will not be a device for every pocket, but will fit in most.

The screen on the Acer Stream is a thing of beauty. Acer created it 3.7 inches in size. It shows the maximum sixteen million colors and has 480 by 800 pixels of resolution to do it in. That is top of the class for smartphones. It uses an accelerometer to automatically change the screen from portrait to landscape mode and back again. It has a speakerphone, a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack, dedicated music keys, and dolby sound enhancement for superior audio. This means that for both viewing and listening, the Stream is a great performer.

The camera on the Acer Stream is a five megapixel performer that is suitable for high definition video. The camera can recognize smiles, autofocus and recognize faces too. The camera has a video ability of 720p and Acer provided an HDMI connector to output to a monitor or high definition television. A FM radio with RDS is included for local news or music.

Inside the Acer Stream is the popular Android 2.1 ( Eclair ) operating system. This is a new system that has plenty of applications for daily living and productivity. It is a speedy system, thanks to the 1000 megahertz Snapdragon processor. There are no waiting times for programs to come to the screen. The 512 of RAM also help the Acer to be a speedy machine. These specifications are on the same par with the Google Phone and the HTC Evo 4G.

There is no price set on the Acer Stream yet, but count on it being cheaper than its competitors. It may be out before the end of third quarter, 2010.
