The iPhone 4 is taking the mobile phone market by storm as people line up in droves to get their hands on one. But, you’ve got to wonder what the heck is so important and so special about a phone that would make you shell out hundreds of dollars just to own it. At first glance, with all the impressive features that the new iPhone 4 offers, you would think that it’s a good buy. There are a lot of people, however, that don’t find the new iPhone all it’s cracked up to be.
The ridiculously high price tag
Apple is more than well known for its notoriously high priced products. But, that doesn’t seem to stop anyone from buying them. Of course, you might find it to be a problem when you can’t afford the overpriced phone. The iPhone 4 is a smartphone, and there are much cheaper options available on the market. Do your bank account a favor and get one of them instead.
Feeling a bit anti-technology
With each new iPhone release, Apple seems to improve upon the last. Then again, they seem to go against the grain at times, too. A prime example of Apple’s trip back into technology is the lack of wifi-sharing capabilities. Other manufacturers have designed their phones to be used as hot spots, but Apple refrains. You would think that the phone that started it all could actually keep up with the times.
So, there’s no flash
The iPhone can’t handle flash graphics, which is enough reason alone to pass on this one. It’s no secret that flash is everywhere on the Internet. More than 80 percent of the top 100 sites use flash, and nearly all videos require a flash player to view them. Apple needs to get with the program and accept that flash is an integral part of the web.
GPS is gonna cost you
For those of you smartphone lovers that have a habit of using GPS, you’re not going to want it with the iPhone 4. It would seem that this feature would be free considering how many people use their phones on a daily basis just to get directions, but Apple decided to charge for this one. Yep, you read that right; satellite navigation is not free, and don’t even think about using Google Maps. With Apple, it’s not an option.
There an updated version….so soon?
You should know by now that Apple is going to come out with a better version of the iPhone in a few months. They’ve done it before, and they keep doing it. Every “new” iPhone is supposed to be better than the last, but do you really need all that stuff? Think about that the next time you decide to upgrade. You might find that they’ve been pulling your leg all this time, and just selling you on technology that you don’t need.
You know that app I saw, I can’t get it
How many times have you bought something because of an advertisement you saw and then found out it actually wasn’t available to you? You, like many others, might find yourself drowning in disappointment when you learn that some of those apps you wanted to grab aren’t there for you to buy.
This list of reasons is in no way all-inclusive, but it’s just a few to get you thinking before you hand over your hard earned cash. The iPhone 4 is all the new rage, but really, would it be a smart choice for you to buy this smartphone?
