The EX-FH100 camera model from Casio is an obvious enhancement of the EX-FC100 that was launched last year. This device is equipped with an amazingly fast shooting capability, a view angle of 24mm, and a 10x optical zoom. Since there are a pretty number of shooting options that can be found in FH100, it tends to intimidate novices. On the other hand, the presence of noise in images, the lowlight system and the RAW format that is extremely slow frustrates creative photographers.
One good thing about the Casio EX-FH100 is that it can capture energetic subjects no matter how fast they move and this is supported by several shooting options. All details, be it big or small, will never escape the lens. To capture 40 images within a single second is just awesome. With just a simple click, the camera has the privilege to capture every move and give you great shots. However, with this kind of feature, the resolution is reduced to 9 megapixels, which means that the quality diminishes. Another downside is that the 40 images per second may not be all true because in reality, it can only do 30 images, which is contrary to what is being advertised.
The quality of the images captured maybe the biggest problem with the EX-FH100, which is supposed to have been prioritized in the design and technical process. The lowlight system is the main cause of the noise and the not so sharp images. It usually uses ISO 200 whose speed is in slow motion, but if you increase the ISO thinking that the quality will improve, it will just give you another reason to fret.
As for the video recording function, the FH100 has the ability to shoot 1000 frames per second extreme slow motion movies and 720p high definition as well. But the large file sizes and the non-functional optical zoom impedes these two modes from deriving its objective. And when it comes to shooting slow motion movies, the resolution seemingly drops. However, with all the flaws mentioned above, its solidness and the sturdiness still makes Casio FH100 very competitive in the market.
When it comes to pricing, the Casio EX-FH100 is more affordable than the FC100 model of Casio that was released last year. Although cheaper, but not totally, the camera is still capable of keeping up with its competitors. The FH100 is the perfect camera for you if you are fond of taking pictures of subjects that make big and fast movements
