The Internet is full of useful websites, tools and resources that can help you make your life easier. But it’s not easy to find them, even using Google or Bing.
So, here is a list of very useful tools and resources that I have been using for a while and that have helped me a lot, but which are hard to find (some have been recommended by friends, others I found by being lucky and surfing the Internet randomly). I’m sure you can put them to good use.
1. Box.net.
This is an online file backup and sharing service that has been around for a while, but is not very popular. I didn’t know about it till last month. Box.net allows you to easily backup any files through a web interface and share them with anyone you want. You get 1GB of space for free, which is enough for most applications.2. SeekLogo.
If you are looking for a sample logo for your project (or if you are a logo designer), Seek Logo will definitely make your task easier. It will search through a database of over 200,000 logos, all of which are in vector formats, which means you can resize them as you wish (and avoid the “image too small to be useful” problem).
3. Double Driver.
This tool will help you a lot if you’re re-installing Windows. It automatically finds and saves all the drivers on your system (and, unlike other applications, it really searches thoroughly and saves absolutely all files) and can be used for easy restoration after you reinstall the OS. It stores an application inside the backup folder, which will restore all your drivers (alternatively, you can just show Windows the backup folder and it should automatically find and reinstall the drivers). Double Driver can be downloaded from http://www.boozet.org/dd.htm and it needs no installation, just run the executable file.
4. TunesBag.
If you love the music in your playlist so much (or you are a DJ or music producer) that you literally can’t go anywhere without it and you often forget your iPod or break it5. PokeTalk.
At first I thought it’s related to Pokemon, the popular kids cartoon, but no, it’s a service that allows you to call and SMS any number in over 55 countries absolutely free! Now, I’m using Skype, and while it is free to talk to other users, it does require money for calling to landline phones (though its much cheaper than standard phone companies). I still don’t understand how PokeTalk can afford free calls and messages, but I really like it!
6. ConvertHub.
If you’re looking for an easy way to convert you images and photos to other formats, look no further, as ConvertHub.com is the only service you’ll need. It can convert all popular formats (and a few special ones) between them and it’s really easy to use.
7. Image Tuner.
This tool can help you a lot if you want to resize a few images or photographs to be sent by email or posted on a forum or social network. You can download and install it from http://www.glorylogic.com/ , then run the program and add the images you want. You can select the output folder, size and image format in the right sidebar. The proportions of the image will be saved, so if you have mixed widescreen and standard photos, they’ll be correctly resized.I hope you find the above links and websites useful. They sure help me a lot everyday, and I don’t know what I would do without them now.

Double Driver is really good and it is very useful for a person like me who always keeps on installing new Operating Systems. Also, I will recommend this to myt clients. The online backup is also good. Poketalk is excellent.
These tools and resources are nice to know about and use. Many of us really didn’t know that they even exist. Thanks for sharing
Psonar is another worth checking out.
It’s a free cloud-based solution which is focused on allowing users to do more with music that they own, unlike streaming services where users effectively ‘rent’ the music as long as they continue to subscribe (and hope that the music doesn’t get pulled by the copyright owner.)
With Psonar you can upload the music you own to the cloud, so it’s accessible everywhere, from any internet-connected device.
You can also search and listen to 30 second clips of any other track uploaded to the cloud and buy that music if you like.
Psonar also provides web-based iTunes-style management so that you can drag and drop tracks to any device that you can connect to a PC via USB. This enables you can have your music on your device when that’s best, but also in the cloud. This means it is great for backup.
So – it’s perfect if you love your old MP3 player, want to keep your music on an inexpensive memory stick or for when you don’t have an internet connection and thus offers you the best of both worlds.
Finally, by utilising the cloud, Psonar can do what the cloud is great for – discovery and social.
