The app is simply called “Metal Detector” and it does exactly what its name says. It has a gauge that pops up on the screen and maxes out when the phone has something made of metal close to it. When it detects metal the screen notifies of you by saying; “Detected”. It also has a feature in its menus to audibly tell you when metal is close to the phone. If you wonder if something is made of plastic or metal, this android app will be able to tell you. You will need to use this with your G1 phone because it works with a phone that has a compass inside.
