3 Cool Android Apps That Will Entertain Your Kids

by Admin on July 9, 2010

When you are talking about the hot smart phone on the market, you are talking about the Android. Now that more homes are starting to see phones with the Android operating system on them, you are going to start to see more applications that are geared towards kids. When mom and dad bring a phone that is a feature rich as most Android phones are then there is no doubt that the kids are going to want to use it as well. And if the parents say no, then there will be a lot of tears that follow. Even though you are sure to see more kid friendly apps on the Android, there are already many available for you to download. In this article we will talk about three of the best kid friendly apps on the Android. You and your child can try them out for yourself and see which one that you two like the best.

Do your kids like to finger paint?: FingerPaint

Sometimes kids like to express themselves through art. And unfortunately for your wall, sometimes that art is expressed on walls and on furniture. With this Android app, your kids can express themselves but safely on your phone. The app is called FingerPaint and it allows your kids to make drawings just by dragging their finger over the phone. This app may seem simple but it is something that will keep the kids imagination going for a couple of hours. Of course that depends on how old they are. So if you are looking for something that your younger children can do on the phone, then this is the perfect application for you and them.

Something educational for the children to use : Math workout Lite

If you want something for them to use that is more than just a game, then how about something educational. There is an app available on the android marketplace called Math workout Lite. It is a mini game that shows math problems in bubbles and the kids have to type in the right answer to pop them. If you are looking for a way to make education fun then this might be the app that you are looking for. Kids will never pay attention if you are trying to teach them math directly. But if you put it in a game format, then they will respond to the lessons a lot better than normal.

Our last app: Draw

Another app that will allow the kids to express themselves on your phone is one called Draw!. This application does so much besides just letting you draw on it. It allows the kids to play hang man and write messages to show to other people as well. This application has turned into an unlikely favorite with both parents and children.

As you can see, the third party developers for Android understand that there is a family market that they must tend to. So they are already creating applications that will appeal to the kids. The more popular the Android gets, the more kids applications you will see.

My 2 year old grandson loves Paint Pro. This app has a kid mode that every time you touch the screen you get a new color and a different thickness and when you shake the Droid, the screen erases.

My son loves an app his dad just released called Dash & Ditto’s Playground. It’s fun for kids up to age 10 I’d guess, but you can try the free version.

We’ve tried lots of the baby and toddler apps and “SOUND TOUCH” is by far my 19 month old’s favorite. He can find and start it himself and switch between the different categories. It’s simplicity is what makes it great.

AniWorld is a new application designed to help your child learn more about animals in an interactive enjoyable way.
The Application is designed to encourage the child to proactively explore the animal kingdom and learn much more about each of the animals.
Each animal has the following functions to explore:
• Animal home – Here we learn where does the animal rest or sleeps.
• Feed me – The child can feed the animal by choosing the right food from different 3 options.
• Pet me – pet the animal to get it gurgle and see it’s heart filled with joy. Once the animal is happy it will surprise with music and funny faces
• From birth to adult – see the life cycle of the animal from birth to adulthood

But most of all ANiWorld is a fun application that your child with play with for many hours.
