There are a lot of things you can do with your Android phone: listen to music, surf the web, watch vides, play beautiful games, create blog posts, audiocasts and videocasts, and much more. But have you ever thought of editing photographs and images on it? You can even design custom silicone wristbands too with this apps.
With the advent of faster processors and memory chips, this has become a reality. Sure, you could do it on old devices if you had the software, but it took much more time and it was harder. With the newest stuff, this has become a fast and easy thing to do. iPhone users have had a simple photo editing tool since the 2.0 operating system update and many have found it useful and essential when choosing their next phone.
Why would you need to edit photos on your smartphone? Well, let’s say for example that you need to take a picture of something using the integrated camera and send it via email or MMS to someone. And you also want to add your annotations and comments for some parts of the image. If you have a photo editing app, you can quickly resize the picture (to save bandwidth), crop the parts you don’t need and add text comments right where you need.
I believe you can see how this can be very useful. And with the apps being free and light on resources, there’s no reason not to try this. Here are 2 of the best (and for now, the only) Android apps that will enable you to edit any photographs and images right on your smartphone:
Photoshop.com Mobile.
I believe most of you know about Photoshop – the leading professional photo editor and design software for desktop computers from Adobe. And now they have a mobile version for Android, with the only exception being that this one is completely free! You can edit, resize, crop and color-correct any of your photos right on your mobile device. You can also add special effects like Sepia and Vignette or soften the focus of the image with one touch.
When you’re done with all your pictures, you can upload them to your Photoshop.com account and browse all your online and local photos using the program’s intuitive interface. It’s a great application to have, with the only possible drawback being the apparent lack of more advanced features, especially when compared to the desktop version.
PicSay.
This application is a more advanced photo editor for Android. It has the same features as Photoshop.com Mobile plus a lot of advanced effects like warp, lasso and cloning. It gives you much more freedom when editing your photos and the effects are very easy to apply and fun to use. Great for parties and fast edits. The Pro version has all of the possible effects and editing features and costs $4, while the free version gives you only the basic features (comparable to Photoshop Mobile) and only a few standard effects. You should check it out anyway, as even the free version is a very good app to have with you anywhere you go.
So there, now you know what software to use when you need to quickly edit any photographs or images that you want, whenever you want and wherever you are, right on your mobile device running the Android OS.
